    How It Works

A family does not have to be an existing client of DSS to apply for diapers. Diapers will be distributed as needed in emergencies (customer walk-ins) and through DSSs to customers at their local District Office.

Key to making the Diaper Bank successful and sustainable is an ample supply of diapers. The Diaper Bank relies on donations, community drives and corporate sponsorships. The Junior League encourages and is seeking individuals, community organizations or corporate sponsorships to support the Diaper Bank and ultimately, our families in the community.

    Who to Contact

    How to Donate

Those interested in donating diapers can drop off at:

    • The Junior League of Central Westchester/Wayside Cottage, located at 1039 Post Rd, Scarsdale, NY 10583
    • The Sharing Shelf, 47 Purdy Avenue, Port Chester NY 10573

    Additional Information

A recent study found that one in three American families struggles to afford clean diapers for their child. On average, diapers cost $18 per week, or $936 per year for each child, according to the Huggies study. Without an ample supply of diapers, babies are left in soiled diapers for too long, leading to poor health from infections, discomfort, and emotional distress.

The Diaper Bank is a partnership of the Department of Social Services (DSS), the Junior League of Central Westchester and the Sharing Shelf.
