Financial assistance may be available for a burial or cremation when a Temporary Assistance recipient or other indigent Westchester resident dies leaving:

• No funds or insurance sufficient to pay the cost
• No relatives, friends or other persons liable for or willing to take the responsibility for burial expenses

Approval from the DSS is required prior to finalizing any arrangements with the funeral home.
